Elsinore 2032


This project develops a visual identity for Elsinore's European Capital of Culture 2032 application. The identity celebrates the city's unique cultural heritage, from Hamlet and its royal connections to its maritime history and architectural landmarks.

The Project:

Taking directly from their own words: “Elsinore 2032 rises as a cosmopolitan beacon casting its light across the region and beyond...“


We set out to create a tight and serious identity that, with a playful, fluid and dynamic expression, seeks discovery and interest. An identity that, through a colourful and dynamic universe, sheds light on the city's lively, cultural and historic engagement. An Identity that not only guides, 
but highlights.

And this led ud to the traingular light cone.











The Logo

The logo visualizes light as it intersects and comes together from different directions. The central meeting point represents Elsinore as a crosspoint of culture, where art, people, and history connect.














Poster System

The four posters each represent a different aspect of Elsinore. The first uses light as a guiding and revealing element, the second reflects the city's maritime heritage, the third explores architecture through structure and symmetry, and the fourth combines the crown and spotlight as symbols of royalty and theatre.




















Animated Poster

Bid Book Proposal

The bid book combines the identity's visual elements within a clean and structured editorial design. Bold graphic forms and typography create strong contrasts against the minimal layout. This balance enhances readability while maintaining a distinctive visual presence.











Wayfinding Light Instalations

The light cones become physical installations placed throughout the city as a wayfinding system. 

They guide people naturally while adding a strong visual layer to the urban space. Each cone marks a key place or moment, making it easier to navigate and explore. Together with the colour palette, they separate events and landmarks into clear, readable groups.
