From oktober 2023- February 2025 I worked as a visual part of the Goya Gumbani team, creating a series of posters, covers and music video title cards. We set out to build a visual identity that explored the rapper and musician’s heavy jazz and funk influences.
Taking inspiration in the confidence of classic jazz record covers, we wanted to create a design that doesn't announce itself as a debut, but as a timeless project.
Exploring how typography could frame and elevate the photography without competing with it. Timeless by restraint, personal by detail. A clash between the rigid and the relaxed, mirroring the record itself: Warlord of the Weejuns is tight where it needs to be, and fluid where it wants to be, a layout that borrows from history without hiding behind it, and ends up feeling entirely like
Goya's own.
Released on Vinyl, CD and Cassette, the projects format played into the world the album created, and making the album not only to be listened to but kept.

The Project:
Taking inspiration from the energetic and bold esthetic of Reid Miles Blue Note Covers from the 60’s, we created a design univers that feels tactile and timeless, while encapsulating the rawness of rap. Not only promoting an artist, but the atmosphere as a whole.
